Important: This Fast-Track Assessment Application is the initial intake form for multiple NPA certification pathways. The certification type selected above, together with the name entered in the application, tells us who or what is being assessed. Certification is only granted for the person, entity, course, or product that has been specifically reviewed and approved by NPA.

Who is the NPA Certification Fast-Track Assessment Application for?

This application is for those with prior training, professional experience, or an established body of work in natural botanical perfumery.

It may be used as the initial assessment route for:

  • individual natural perfumers
  • natural perfumery businesses or brands
  • educational bodies, schools, or course providers
  • individual perfume / product submissions

If you are new to natural perfumery and do not yet have sufficient training or experience, we recommend starting with the NPA Certification Program instead.

What happens next?

We review your application, supporting information, and the certification type selected.

Depending on the pathway selected, you may:

  • be awarded certification at this stage
  • be invited to proceed to the next stage of assessment
  • or be advised on a more suitable certification or training route

Where applicable, approved applicants may then activate their Annual Badge & Directory License in order to display the badge and be listed publicly.

Refunds

If certification is not granted at this stage, €50 is refunded, with €100 retained to cover administration, review, and professional evaluation costs.

  • an educational body, school, or course provider

Eligibility Requirements

Graduates of NPA Programs

You are eligible if you have completed the NPA Diploma Course or another NPA-certified course from an accredited NPA Education Body.

Experienced Natural Perfumers

If you have substantial experience working with natural botanical ingredients, you may apply by providing proof of your expertise. This may include a portfolio, relevant documentation, or evidence of industry experience.

Educational Bodies and Teachers

If you are a teacher, school owner, or educational body with a curriculum that meets NPA standards, you may apply through this same intake form by selecting the relevant certification type and entering the name of the school, institution, or course provider as the entity to be assessed.

Educational Body Certification requires a more detailed review of curriculum, structure, and course delivery, and may involve a further certification fee if approved.

Businesses and Brands

If you are applying for a natural perfumery business or brand, please enter the name of the business or brand being assessed.

Perfume / Product Submissions

If you are applying for a specific perfume or product, please enter the name of the perfume or product being assessed.

How Certification May Be Used

If approved, certification and any associated Green / Amber / Yellow transparency badge must be used only in connection with the person, business, school, course, or product that has been specifically reviewed and approved by NPA.

Certification under one pathway does not automatically extend to another.

For example:

  • individual certification does not automatically certify a school, course, business, or product
  • educational body certification does not automatically certify every perfume or product
  • product certification does not automatically certify a practitioner, business, or school

If you wish to certify more than one category, these may require separate review and approval.

Initial application fee for NPA Certification assessment. This application may relate to an individual natural perfumer, natural perfumery business, educational body, course provider, or perfume/product submission, depending on the certification type selected above.
The €150 fee covers administrative processing, expert review, and the first stage of assessment. If certification is not granted, a partial refund of €50 will be issued, with the remaining €100 retained to cover application processing and professional evaluation costs.
For certification types requiring a wider review - including educational bodies, or larger business assessments - this initial fee is credited towards the total certification fee if approved, and a further invoice for the balance may apply.
